Preliminary Experimental study of positron emission marker based real-time position tracking
The purpose of the overall project is to develop a technique of obtaining accurate 3D position of tumors inside of a patient using positron emission markers. The marker will be implanted into tumors. By detecting annihilation gamma rays using pairs of position-sensitive detectors, the position of the markers can be tracked in real-time with high precision. The technique can improve the delivery accuracy of radiation therapy.
The student will be involved in the experimental study of the feasibility of the above concept. The specific tasks are: (I) building a motion phantom that simulates human movement. (II) Data acquisition from a clinical Positron Emission Tomography (PET) system. (III) Data analysis, reconstruction, and accuracy assessment. The student will learn about the physics of positron emission and its applications in medical imaging and the image reconstruction algorithms. The project will also enhance student's instrumentation and data analyzing skills.
Aaah!

Ça a l'air super intéressant. Bon projet Marc! :)
Merci bien!
