Nouveau titre

«L'Univers, ma vie et tout le reste», c'est un peu prétentieux, mais... c'est également un clin d'oeil à l'une des meilleures séries jamais écrites: The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy par Douglas Adams. Le 3e livre s'intitule Life, the Universe and Everything et c'est personnellement mon préféré.

Hi Mizamour!

I'm fine with English. But how much French would you say you know? I'm not familiar with your education system. Could you read a (simple) book without much trouble? Just curious!

Although I saw POTO before Notre-Dame de Paris came out (I saw POTO on a school trip to Toronto), it's actually the latter that made me a fan of musicals. My then-girlfriend introduced me to the original concept CD and I fell in love right away! Then we saw the show and it was awesome!

And no, I didn't see Colm in Les Mis. (I saw it in Ottawa in 2002) I believe Jean Valjean was played by one Randal Keith. He was wonderful, though. As was the whole cast, in fact (except maybe Gavroche... I thought he was a bit weak, but the boy was young, so let's forgive him!). But I read on your blog that you saw Colm Wilkinson on his US tour! Whoa!

As for JSC, they filmed a staged version a couple of years ago. See here: http://www.reallyuseful.com/rug/films/jesus/

Be warned, though: it's VERY different from the movie (I mean the sets and costumes). It's a contemporary production. I haven't seen it, but the version of the show I saw was mostly based on it. It was
good.

Speaking of filmed musicals, did you know that Notre-Dame de Paris was filmed on stage in Paris in 1999. And it's available on DVD! Check here: http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005Y7KX/qid=1124124809/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/701-1583373-8725958

Of course, it's nothing like seeing the show, but when there's no other option available... That's the only way I got to see Cats.

Finally, I read Hugo's Notre-Dame de Paris too, but I didn't really like it. Les Misérables on the other hand... IT'S INCREDIBLE! I read it 3 times already and it seems to get better every time. There are some long parts (the battle of Waterloo comes to mind) but the ending is AWESOME. I always get all misty-eyed...

I've gone on long enough. Nice to meet you too!

J'attends de tes nouvelles!

Martine, non, Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy n'est pas long à lire.
